Eleven Plus Courses and Programmes

Year 4 – Foundation phase
The Year 4 programme ensures all pupils have the basic foundation blocks for success in the final exams. Our programme includes coverage of the National Curriculum at KS2 for Maths and English with some emphasis on mental arithmetic, spelling, grammar and vocabulary and creative story writing. The programme maintains a standard above that which is expected in mainstream schools and it is for the same reason that during the course of the year, parents and teachers begin to see a noticeable improvement in the confidence, attitude and attainment of our pupils. In addition to Maths and English, we also cover both verbal and non-verbal reasoning.
Year 5 – Core & Specialisation Phase
The core stage builds upon the foundations laid in Year 4 and covers the requirements for all of the exam boards. The entrance tests are susceptible to change at a moment’s notice, therefore, our course is designed to produce versatile candidates who can adapt easily to the ever-changing exam boards who do their best to produce ‘untutorable’ papers.
Towards the end of the core stage, the vast majority of our pupils would have covered the advanced levels of the National Curriculum, thereby exceeding the Year 6 objectives. Reasoning, Maths and English are covered to a more intensive degree and some fine tuning is what is needed. This is done in the final phase, between the Easter break and Summer holidays.
By this stage, our pupils have covered everything they need to for their exams and are ready to put their skills to test.
No Eleven Plus campaign is complete or successful without exam practice. The specialisation stage integrates exam technique with the use of practice papers based specifically upon the school/s your child is being prepared for. By now, our students are used to the style, structure and content of the exams as they have been looking at exam papers regularly during the course of the two years. Our preparation in this phase will continue right up to the actual exam date. Our Eleven Plus Course covers grammar, vocabulary, creative writing and much more.
To support the work done in our weekly sessions, homework (paper based and online) is set throughout. This allows pupils to practise and consolidate what they have learnt independently.
Year 4 Course
Our foundation course includes the following:
- FREE initial baseline assessment
- Learning materials: mental arithmatic book, stationary, reading books, exercise books, worksheets
- 38 two-hour lessons over the course of the academic year
- Additional support on topics if required
- Weekly exam papers as part of homework, designed to challenge learners
- Access to online platform to practise maths, english VR, NVR and vocab
- Access to vobabulary game
- 6 assessments during the year.
- Holiday homework packs at Xmas, Easter and the Summer.
Year 5 Course
The core/specialisation course includes the following:
- FREE initial baseline assessment
- Learning materials: mental arithmatic book, stationary, reading books, exercise books, worksheets
- 38 two-hour lessons over the course of the academic year
- Additional support on topics if required
- Weekly exam papers as part of homework, designed to challenge learners
- Access to online platform to practise maths, english VR, NVR and vocab
- Access to vobabulary game
- 6 assessments during the year.
- Holiday homework packs at Xmas, Easter and the Summer.
- FREE mock exams at the end of the course.
